Join us for Smithsonian Food History Weekend! Friday and Saturday, join us for free activities for visitors of all ages, including hands-on learning opportunities and cooking demos featuring leading chefs, local organizations, experts, museum curators, entrepreneurs, and more. Check out: - Cooking Up History - Rarely-Seen Objects Out of Storage - Hands On Cooking Activities - Book Signings - and more! This year center's theme is "Power Through Food," focusing on the role of food in creating community and economic viability among migrants and refugees in different parts of the country. Several past award recipients will participate in the weekend events: - Jacques Pépin - Rick Bayless - Danny Meyer - Mary Sue Milliken Plus, Friday evening is dedicated to all things beer as the museum hosts Last Call: Brewing History After Hours. This ticketed event featuring food, tastings, and conversations about the complex history of American brewing. (Evening event recommended for 21+ audience.)
